Black Labrador

Welcome back everyone!

Are you ready for the next Dog of the Month? Okay then! June’s Dog of the Month is the Labrador retriever. I chose this dog for June because Labs love water. They are one of America’s favorite dog breeds! Why? Because they are friendly to everyone, including kids, and they are easy to train. The Labrador retriever originated from Newfoundland, where he used to retrieve fishing nets from the lakes and rivers. Labs have powerful tails that they use to steer through the water.

Labradors have a short, glossy coat that can either be black, yellow, or chocolate. There used to be only black Labs, but now lots of people own yellow and chocolate Labs, too. (If you get a black Labrador, it will be hard to find him in the dark because he’ll blend in!) My favorite variety of Labrador is the chocolate Lab!

Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading and don’t forget to come back for July’s Dog of the Month! (I’ll give you a hint about it: this dog has spots.) See you later!
