Hi guys! I’m back! Hope you all have had a great Fourth of July Day!
The Dog of the Month for July is the goldendoodle. This Dog of the Month is a special edition because I usually write about purebred dogs, but this is the first crossbreed to be posted as a Dog of the Month! I decided to write about this type of dog because over the past few months I met a goldendoodle puppy and thought that this would make the perfect Dog of the Month for July!
The goldendoodle is still a fairly new dog breed, but is becoming very popular. It is a type of designer dog, which is a crossbreed that has been bred between two different purebred dogs on purpose. As you can probably tell by the name, a goldendoodle is a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. They come in mulpiple sizes: standard, medium, miniature, and petite. The size variation of the poodle (standard, miniature, or toy) mostly determines the size of the goldendoodle. Because they have poodle in them, most goldendoodles are hypoallergenic. Their coats can be either curly, like a poodle’s, or wavy, more like a golden retriever’s; and the color of their coats can range from light blonde to deep, rich red, or they can be black, brown, or white. Goldendoodles make excellent family dogs because they are gentle with kids (like golden retrievers) and are very smart and learn quickly (like poodles). I love goldendoodles because they’re a perfect mix of two of my favorite dog breeds!
Well, that’s it about the goldendoodle. See you later!

P.S. Oh, and by the way, remember that goldendoodle puppy I mentioned meeting? Well, he’s not just any puppy. He’s MINE!! That’s right, after years of begging my parents, I FINALLY GOT MY VERY OWN PUPPY!!! I met him when he was just six weeks old, and brought him home at eight weeks. His name is BlaZe, and he is the cutest, sweetest, best puppy in the world! (By the way, he is a mini goldendoodle, and will grow to be about twenty to thirty pounds.) And the Z in his name is not a typo. It’s supposed to be capitalized like that. 🙂 Be sure to look out for my new blog, called BlaZe’s Blog, where BlaZe will tell you about his adventures! I am also planning to write a book series about him, so stay tuned for that, too! But for now, enjoy the photos!
