Welcome back everybody!
I can’t believe how fast February went by and now it’s already March! Both, my Grandma’s and my Granny’s birthdays are this month, and I know that Doberman pinschers run in our family, so that’s the dog breed I picked to be the Dog of the Month.

Doberman pinschers (sometimes called Dobies for short) are extremely devoted to their masters. They are very intelligent too! One of my Grandmas had a Dobie who used to press the button to open the garage, then run outside and ring the doorbell to come back inside. I’m not kidding!

Dobermans are also one of the breeds that can be misunderstood. Lots of people are scared of them because sometimes they are trained to be guard dogs. But while it’s true that they can be protective of their people, many of them are really sweet dogs!

A Doberman’s coat is short and smooth. They also don’t shed too much (well, that’s what my Grandma told me!). Doberman Pinschers are either black or red, with rust-colored markings over their eyes, muzzle, chest, and legs. Their ears can be left to hang natural or can be cropped (having some parts cut off so that they stand up), but cropping a dog’s ears is illegal in certain countries.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this Dog of the Month! Be sure to stay tuned for the next one, and also for more updates about my two new books that are coming out soon!

P.S. Last month I shared with you about one of the books that are coming soon, so now I want to share with you about the other one. I had written it when I was nine years old, and it’s about a Golden Retriever puppy with superpowers who gets lost in a forest. While she’s living in the wild, she makes friends with other puppies who are lost too, then teams up with them to rescue stray dogs from an evil dogcatcher. I will let you know when it’s available, so stay tuned for future updates!
