Hi guys! It’s me again! Can you believe that it’s already spring? I can’t! Well, I decided to write about the German Shepherd for the Dog of this Month. This dog originated in Germany (of course!), and was bred to herd sheep. German Shepherds are intelligent and loyal dogs. They are great with children if socialized with them, and are great family dogs.

The German Shepherd has two coats (an outercoat and an undercoat) and is usually black and tan. He is a brave dog and can be used as a guide dog, a search-and-rescue dog, police dog, and more! Well, I guess that’s it for this breed. I’ll be back next month with the next Dog of the Month!

Fun Fact!
Studies have shown that people who have dogs are heathier and happier than people who don’t have dogs. Also, petting dogs can keep people calmer and help their blood pressure go down. That’s one of the reasons why therapy dogs are taken to hospitals so they can cheer up the patients. Some dogs are even used for emotional support!
