Hey Dogroll readers!

Wow, it’s March 2019 already! It seemed like last year went by so quickly. I know it’s been a while since the last Dog of the Month (I was pretty busy!), but welcome back to the Dogroll!

March’s Dog of the Month is the Great Pyrenees, also called the Pyrenean mountain dog. These dogs were bred to guard livestock from predators in the Pyrenees Mountains and, because of that, they are very loyal and protective of their families. They can be reserved toward people they don’t know well.

If you’re considering getting a Great Pyrenees, be sure you know what you’re getting into! These huge dogs require lots of time, energy, and training. They also do best living in the country or suburbs, where they can have lots of room to exercise. As I had mentioned earlier, the Great Pyrenees has a snowy white coat, which can either be pure white or also have gray, black, or tan markings. This dog’s thick coat needs lots of grooming! But did I mention how beautiful they are?

As you can see, Great Pyrenees can require a lot of effort to care for, but it can be worth it to have one of these beautiful dogs as your Furry Friend Furever! 🙂 Speaking of which, if you are thinking about getting a Great Pyrenees or are in the middle of looking for one to bring into your family, there are many purebred Pyrenees or Pyrenees mixes at shelters and breed rescues, waiting for furever homes! Consider adopting a Great Pyrenees instead of buying one from a breeder. Here are some links to get you started!

Well, that’s all for now. See you later everybody!
