Hi everybody! Happy fall!

The Dog of the Month for October is the Weimaraner, a very energetic, lively dog that would do best living with an experienced owner who knows how to handle this breed. Even though they love kids, they could be a bit too much for toddlers. As I mentioned before, they have tons of energy, and are another one of those dogs that need lots of exercise so they don’t get into trouble. Weimaraners also tend to be strong-willed and need to begin obedience training early. (Besides, it’s never too early to start training your dog!)

The Weimaraner has a short, glossy coat whose shades of gray range from dark (called “mouse gray”) to pale, silvery gray. Their noses match the color of their fur. The Weim’s coat doesn’t need a lot of maintenance; just a short weekly brushing will be enough.

To sum it all up, with a lot of time, training, exercise, and love, Weimaraners can make wonderful companions! Hope you’ve enjoyed this Dog of the Month!

Fun Fact!

The Weimaraner’s pale gray coat has given this dog the nickname “Gray Ghost” by dog lovers! And here’s another interesting fact: Newborn Weims are born with dark stripes, but the stripes go away when the puppies are three weeks old.
